Becki Newton

Becki Newton was born in New Haven in Connecticut, was raised in Guilford in Connecticut. She's English and Czech descent and began performing performances and musicals at local theaters. She also went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with the degree of a B.A. in European History. Newton was a Penn school student was was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. Newton following her graduation from Penn University in 2006 transferred to New York City where she was offered television roles by organizations like Olive Garden. Newton appeared as Amanda Tanen from 2006-2010 in the comedy drama series Ugly Betty. Newton hosted the Ugly Betty radio show along with Co-star Michael Urie. In addition, she was a part of ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours Webisode Show. Ugly Betty, which had 4 seasons of success by the time it ended, was cancelled in 2010. The cancellation allowed the show to get a proper finale. Newton made the New York City Center encores debut in 2009. Jerry Zaks directed the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy. She portrayed Molly Gray and performed opposite the husband of her life, Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton made an appearance in Love Bites. Cindy Chupack was the executive producer of Love Bites, a romantic comedic show. Cindy Chupack worked with Sex and the City. NBC picked up the series beginning in May of 2010 but due to the announcement of Newton's pregnancy, Jordana Spiro's contract requiring her to continue in My Boys however, the show was pulled later on, as well as Chupack having a desire to quit Love Bites, the premiere was pushed back to midseason.
